Batty For Halloween-Spooktober Part 3

This week I’m dressing up as a bat, an iconic Halloween symbol. If you can’t decide on a costume I think keeping it classic is always the way to go, and I had everything already in my closet for this. This would make for a great last minute costume because it is super easy to pull together.

I went with an all black outfit of course to really get the vibe of the bat. I started with my pleather skort, added an all lace top (that I got on clearance for 50 cents, what a steal), thigh high boots, and most important of all the bat wings. Funny enough the wings are a dog costume that I made work by putting the straps together and putting it on like a backpack. Halloween is sometimes all about creativity and making anything and every thing you have work any way you can.

I always say this but  I love doing my hair and makeup for my costumes and this week I went dark with the makeup. I used black eyeshadow for a smoky eye, dabbed a bit on my lips and then added lipgloss for a subtle black lipstick. Using eyeshadow as a lipstick is the best hack because you can have any color you want without having to buy an extra product. I wore my hair half up half down and the two buns represent the ears of a bat. I tied black ribbon around my neck to create a choker and the look was complete.

Hard to believe we only have 2 costumes left for the year. This is my favorite time of the year and I’m fully emerging myself in spooky season and doing all of the fun fall activities. As always I can’t wait to see what costumes are popular this year. I liked how this turned out and it’s super comfortable. Until next time, stay spooky!
