It’s time for another Halloween costume idea! This week is a frosted animal cracker. This one was a lot of fun to craft and was super easy once I acquired all the necessary elements to complete it. If you need something last minute and already have a pink dress in your closet, this costume is for you! I was impressed with how everything came together and honestly really liked how it all turned out.
I love to see all the creativity come to life around this time of the year. The main component of this DIY are multi-colored pom poms, which I bought from Walmart. I also bought a bag of white pom poms to add contrast. My pink dress was thrifted and once again so difficult to find. I was about to give up on my vision for this costume when I decided to give Goodwill one last try and there was this perfect dress. I sat on my living room floor late one night listening to Taylor Swift, as one does while crafting, as I glued on each pom pom one by one with my hot glue gun.
My makeup for this costume was every shade of pink you could think of. I went through all my makeup and found any pallet that had pink in it and used it for my eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. I went heavy on the blush again with this costume, how could I not when the whole animal cracker I am dressing up as is covered in pink frosting?
It’s all in the details when it comes to bringing your vision for your DIY Halloween costume to life. On top of gluing all the pom poms to my dress I also put them on bobby pins and my socks. I thought it brought the entire outfit together to have these added details. I put my hair in two buns to imitate ears of an animal cracker and then added the bobby pins with pom poms in front of each bun. I also put on some hot pink and shimmering nail stickers so that even my nails matched my costume. When I’m coming up with costumes to do each year I really like to think of the outfit from head to toe and do what I can to make my ideas come to life.
Well that is this week’s costume and how I created it from start to finish! I hope you enjoyed it and these posts are helping you think and decide what you want to dress up as this year for Halloween. Each one of these costume ideas brings us closer and closer to the day of the 31st. I hope you all are as excited as I am and I can’t wait for you to see what I have come up with for next week! Until then, stay spooky!
