Sinking My Teeth Into Halloween: Spooktober Part 2

It's week two of Spooktober! Who is excited for this Halloween season? How many of you already have your Halloween costume planned out? Well if you don't this blog post is for you. This week the costume idea is a vampire, a Halloween classic as old as time.

This is quite an easy costume to put together and the majority of the costume relies on the makeup, which to me is half of the fun of a Halloween costume. The only items I bought for this costume were the cape and the fake vampire fangs. The thrift stores during the fall season are fully stocked with things you can buy to create the perfect Halloween costume.

I was out shopping one day looking around trying to get an idea for my blog posts this month and stumbled upon this cape at Goodwill and I knew it would really bring this costume together. I wore a black dress that I thrifted years ago and paired it all with my Dr. Martens to keep an edgy look to my outfit. I made sure to remove all my silver jewelry because we all know silver is not a vampire's friend.

When it comes to a Halloween costume idea I always like to find something that I can have fun with the makeup. This vampire look was pretty simple to create and I can thank Pinterest for all the makeup inspiration. To start I used a foundation lighter than my skin because vampires don't see that much sun. For my eyeshadow I did a blend of red and black shadows on my lid and on my water line. I used the same trick from my Barbie costume and used black eyeshadow around the outside of my lips and dabbed red in the center. I dragged the red eyeshadow down from my outer corner to make it look like I just had a tasty "snack."

I hope you all are having a great start to your spooky season and I can't wait to create even more costume ideas for you in the weeks to come. This is by far my favorite time of the year and I have so much fun with this blog. My hope is that seeing ideas from me will help fuel your creative spirit so that you can create a fang-tastic Halloween costume.
