Christmas is ONE week away! Seems pretty unbelievable if you ask me, I don't know where this month has gone. I feel so behind on everything holiday related this year, I'm still searching for Christmas gifts. By this time last year I had everything wrapped and prepped for Christmas day. We all know this year didn't go as planned though and we keep rolling with the punches. Find your holiday cheer any way you can. For me I love putting together cute outfits for any and all occasions. I put together four outfit ideas that are perfect for any small close knit holiday celebration you have planned this year.
I like to wear red, white, green or black for a Christmas outfit because those colors are synonymous with the season. The first outfit I put together is a faux leather skirt, red fluffy sweater, and ankle booties. If you have read my pirate Halloween blog post then this skirt may look familiar to you. It is the skirt I used for my costume that I ordered off of Amazon. I am still shocked at how well it fits and how confident I feel in it. I found this red sweater in my closet and thought it would go perfectly with the skirt because it is bright and will pop against the black faux leather. This sweater also has a fluffy texture which makes it super cozy for the holiday. I finished off the look with my Rue 21 booties. I like to wear these boots because I think they make any outfit look more dressed up. I put soft waves in my hair for each look and wore natural makeup. This is an easy outfit that you can make your own and have fun with your sweater choice.
The next outfit feels very classy and it is extremely comfortable. I paired a green silk midi skirt with a white chenille sweater. I never thought midi skirts were something that I could wear because I am quite short and thought they made me look even shorter but I have come to love them, especially in the fall/winter months. Days that I don't want to wear a dress I usually like to wear a midi skirt because it gives the same feeling as a dress but a completely different look. This green midi skirt I bought from TJMaxx a few months ago. It is a really pretty silky material and I think the green is the perfect holiday color.
The chenille sweater I'm wearing is from Charlotte Russe, I remember it being available in multiple colors. I got it as a gift a few years ago but I'm sure they still have something similar on the website now. This sweater isn't originally cropped but I put a belt around my waist and tucked the sweater into it so that it would sit above the waistband of the skirt. This is a hack I saw on Tik Tok and it is really clever and helpful. I wore some boot socks in matching green and white with some tan booties. I really like this outfit and hope that it is something you are excited to replicate.
I don't think you can go wrong with a skirt and a sweater this holiday season because 3 out of the 4 outfits I put together have this combination. For this outfit I'm wearing a black tennis skirt with a white ribbed turtleneck tucked in. I have seen these skirts all over Pinterest and really wanted to add one to my wardrobe. I was searching high and low when one day I decided to check Shein to see if they had any. Luckily they did have one that was on sale, black, and my size was available. Just like my skirt from Amazon reading the reviews really helped me pick my perfect size. I tucked in a ribbed white turtleneck so that it had a different look and the cropped sweater you saw previously. For shoes I wore some sock booties and I think they really pulled the whole look together. Any color tennis skirt would be super cute and trendy for a holiday outfit.
My last and final outfit idea is for those of you who want to be very comfortable yet look like you put forth effort this holiday season. I am wearing a pair of green corduroy pants with a plaid mock neck long sleeve tucked in. These pants were thrifted from the Goodwill outlet awhile ago. I wasn't able to try these pants on before buying them but I fell in love with them and was so happy when they fit. The green color is so rich and makes me think of evergreen trees. My shirt was also thrifted and I think it is the perfect holiday shirt. The plaid pattern is very dainty and is red and green. The two pair nicely together because the pants accentuate the green in the shirt. I just wore tan booties to match the mock neck. Play around with patterns and textures in your outfits, this is something I was always afraid of but it makes an outfit even more interesting.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. Find your Christmas cheer and spend time with those you love most if you are able. Fingers crossed that holidays next year will be back to normal.
