I know we all look to Pinterest for all sorts of inspiration in our lives. It is my favorite place to browse and get inspiration for all aspects of my life as well. I have boards for outfits, hairstyles, makeup, house decor, Instagram posts, and the list goes on and on. My outfits board has so many pins in it because fashion is a huge part of my life. I love putting together different outfits for myself and any one in my life honestly. My sister gave me the idea to create outfits with the clothes in my closet that closely resembled pins from Pinterest. I also wanted her to pick out some outfits as well so it was something we could do together. This was such a fun challenge and made me even more excited for the fall months and all the outfits I can create and wear.
The first outfit I put together is one of my favorites. It involves a black hat, mom jeans, and corduroy. What more could I ask for?! I saw this photo on Pinterest and knew I had the perfect corduroy shirt in my closet. It isn't brown like the photo but it is olive green which is one of my favorite colors to wear during the fall. I found this shirt at a Goodwill Outlet and decided to crop it to match this photo. I think for me finding this photo and cropping my shirt turned an item that I barely wore into something I want to incorporate into multiple outfits. I put the corduroy shirt over a black body suit. My jeans are from the brand Patagonia and I also got them at the Goodwill Outlet. It's funny because you can't try on items there and yet somehow these jeans fit me better than any jeans I've had before. I felt very stylish and confident in this outfit and can see myself wearing it multiple times this fall.
The next outfit is pretty simple but one I wear all the time. It is a black long sleeve mock turtleneck that is originally from H&M but my sister gave it to me. Having sisters is a blessing because we can all share clothes and get inspiration from each other. It wasn't always like this though. I used to be very protective of my clothing and hated when they wanted to wear something of mine. I paired the top with a cheetah skirt that I got from a resale boutique. I find a lot of joy buying secondhand and it saves me a lot of money as well. For shoes I wore my Dr. Martens to give it some edge. I think I did a pretty good job recreating this outfit.
Next is an outfit that my sister created from a pin she saw of a girl wearing a white crop top, black jeans, and an oversized denim jacket. This is such a classic outfit that is perfect for the fall. Over half of her outfit is thrifted as well, thrifting is a joy that we share and it's a lot of fun. You could always switch out the color of the crop top the further into the fall months we get. An olive green or mustard would look super cute during October or November. I think she did a great job replicating this outfit and it is an outfit that I have added to my list to try for myself.
I hope these have given you some inspiration and excitement for fall weather. We created even more outfits so there will be another blog post with Pinterest outfits in the near future! Putting your own spin on outfits that you see on Pinterest is a lot of fun. Whether you change up the hairstyle, accessories, or color combination it is cool to see what you can recreate with items in your closet. I suggest you try it, you might find outfits that you wouldn't have tried otherwise.
