Turkey Day

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving was already a week ago, November flew by and it's going to be Christmas before we know it. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and you were able to have yummy food and spend time with family and friends. I am very thankful for the people that I surround myself with and have supporting me in all that I do. This year I went to two Thanksgivings, one at my house and one at my boyfriend's house. This meant double the food and I really had to pace myself and limit how much I ate at each place, which was quite difficult because I love to eat.
Although my plans for the day usually involve sitting and standing in the kitchen and stuffing my face with food I still like to dress up. Each year my sisters and I would pick out our outfits and have a pre turkey feast photoshoot. It is a fun way to pass the time while our mom and grandma are in the kitchen cooking up the good stuff. The past two years one of my sisters has been in a different state for Thanksgiving so it has been me and my youngest sister carrying out these traditions. Any excuse to dress up in a cute outfit and take pictures we are there.
It is important to be stylish yet comfortable on this holiday, since I would be eating a lot I knew I didn't want to wear anything super tight. I went with a black jumpsuit that I got from Old Navy that I have worn so much but I just can't help it. The weather was very nice this year but in the shade there was a slight chill so I added a thin mock turtleneck striped shirt underneath. Luckily I had the perfect shoes, thanks to my boyfriend's mom, that I could pair with this outfit to pull out the maroon color in my top. I really liked this outfit and it is so easy to dress up or down depending on what I wear underneath and what shoes I wear with it, and it allowed me to be comfortable and eat an abundance of food.
My sister wore a cute yellow plaid body suit, a black skirt, and black thigh high boots. I loved this outfit for her and it totally gave me Clueless vibes, which is one of my favorite movies. Her outfit was super stylish but did not last the length of Thanksgiving. By the time I got home from my first Thanksgiving she had already changed into a different top and jeans. Her original outfit did not have the comfort level that was needed for a full day of feasting, but at least she was able to get some cute pics in the original outfit. Sometimes you just have to do it for the gram, you know what I mean?! She will get a lot of use out of it though, it is a great bodysuit to just through on with some jeans and run around town.
All in all it was a great day surrounded by great people and great food. Feel free to talk about your Thanksgiving attire in the comments, I can't wait to hear what everyone wore. Also, subscribe to the blog so you never miss an update.  I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and if you participated in Black Friday I hope you got amazing deals. Now it's time to pick out my Christmas outfit because it will be here in a blink of an eye. Have an amazing weekend everyone!
